Simon Parrott

I have lived in Bedfordshire for all my life, and studied at Bedford Modern School. I qualified as a solicitor in 1987 and have practiced in Bedford since then. I now lead our commercial team and deal with commercial property transactions and also disputes for private and commercial clients.

My experience covers the purchase, sale and leasing of commercial properties and advising on development sites. I also deal with agricultural land matters and agricultural leases. As far as disputes are concerned, my main specialisation is dealing with disputes involving property, particularly landlord and tenant disputes in relation to both residential and commercial properties. I regularly give talks and presentations on property topics to property owners.

Steve Williamson

I qualified as a Solicitor in 1977 and have practised in Bedford throughout my working life.

Initially, I undertook general legal work for clients, but ultimately I have specialised in property work. I handle a large volume of conveyancing transactions, including the sale and purchase of houses and apartments, re-mortgages and transfers of equity. I also deal with more complex transactions including land deals which often involve option agreements and conditional contracts, shared ownership leases and unregistered titles.

Apart from assisting individuals with selling and buying property, I also act for a number of investors who often require quick timeframes to complete transactions in order to comply with their agreed terms.

I also act for property developers with the acquisition of land, putting together sites and then dealing with the plot sales, which often involve further documentation such as deeds of easement, road agreements etc.

I am often asked to advise on legal packs for property auctions and to prepare legal packs for clients selling at auction.

Apart from this, I give advice on a miscellany of issues involving property including covenants, easements boundaries etc.

Mel Lawrence

I am a solicitor specialising in commercial property transactions. I deal with a variety of commercial property work including landlord & tenant issues (drafting and advising on leases, lease renewals, assignments and sub-letting), business sales and purchases, portfolio management and dilapidation settlements.

I have lived in Bedfordshire for the past 20 years and qualified as a solicitor in 2006. Having undertaken most of my training in residential and commercial property, I specialised in commercial property from the outset. I joined Sharmans in April 2014 and I am based in our Bedford office. I take a practical approach to matters and find that clients appreciate my professional yet friendly approach.

Helen Morris

I grew up in Ampthill and now live in Flitwick. I have worked in Solicitors’ offices for most of my working life, and my first ever job interview was with Sharman & Trethewy’s Ampthill Office. I first joined Sharmans as a secretary in 1998 and after 6 years of part-time study was accepted as a fellow of The Chartered Institute of Legal Executives. I qualified in 2013 and am now an Associate in the firm.

I currently deal with all aspects of residential conveyancing and have dealt with hundreds of matters since qualifying. I understand that moving can be a daunting prospect, and my aim is to provide a personal, friendly, caring and efficient service to my clients, to make the process as stress-free as possible.

Kerry Shanley

I have worked for firms of solicitors for 16 years having commenced my career with a Luton based firm before moving to a mid-sized firm in the West End of London in 2005. I joined Sharmans in August 2015.

I currently deal with all aspects of residential conveyancing. I understand that conveyancing can be stressful and it is my aim to make each transaction as stress-free as possible by providing a friendly and efficient service.

Sharika Jerome

I have lived in Bedford all for all of my life. I have worked with various firms of solicitors across Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire for over 15 years. I joined Sharmans in February 2016 and deal with residential conveyancing transactions. In particular, I am experienced in a broad range of property matters including sales, purchases, remortgages and shared ownership leases.

I have dealt with hundreds of cases within my field.

Ruth Burrell

I moved to Bedford and qualified as a solicitor in Commercial Property in 2008. I act for a range of clients including Landlords, Tenants, Property Developers, Portfolio Owners, Farmers, Charities and Land Owners. My work is diverse and I have experience of many property-related issues.

Recently, an increasing proportion of my work has been dealing with residential lease issues including enfranchisement (freehold purchases and sales) and lease extensions. I have acted for both Landlords and Tenants on both agreed and statutory lease extensions and freehold purchases.

Tracie Pryke

I grew up in Bedford and have been dealing with Conveyancing work for the past few years, having worked in various fields since leaving school, including living and working abroad and running my own business.

I joined Sharmans in 2018 working within the Conveyancing Department. I have experience in dealing with all aspects of residential conveyancing, including sales and purchases of both freehold and leasehold properties, registered and unregistered, re-mortgages and transfers of equity.

I guide my clients through every stage of the conveyancing process, from the initial enquiry through to completion. I am mindful that many clients have never been through the conveyancing process before and it can be a very daunting process. My goal is to ensure that the process is a pleasant and stress free experience whilst building a good relationship with my clients in order to provide a personal and efficient service.
