A Grant of Probate is a legal document from the court which confirms your Executors authority to deal with your property, money and possessions after your death. It will enable them to access funds, sort out finances and ultimately collect and share out your assets in accordance with the wishes set out in your Will.

If you die leaving a Will the Executors named in the Will apply for a Grant of Probate. If you die without a Will a close relative can apply to the Probate Registry to obtain a Grant of Letters of Administration.
