Powers of Attorney
A Lasting Power of Attorney is a legal document giving you the opportunity to appoint someone to look after your property and financial affairs (known as a Property & Affairs Lasting Power of Attorney) or to make decisions about your health and welfare (a Health & Welfare Lasting Power of Attorney) if you are no longer able to do so.
Any adult with assets ought to consider making a Lasting Power of Attorney in case they cannot manage their own affairs in the future. If, for example, you suffer from an illness which may get worse, it will be particularly important to have a Lasting Power of Attorney in case you become unable in the future to manage your finances or make health and welfare decisions. We can talk through the various options with you and advise you on the most appropriate steps to take.
