Simon has lived in Bedfordshire all his life and went to Bedford Modern School. He qualified as a solicitor in 1987 and has practised in Bedford since then. He now heads our team that deals with disputes for private and commercial clients and also deals with commercial property transactions.

His main specialisation is dealing with disputes involving property, particularly landlord and tenant disputes in relation to both residential and commercial properties and disputes between businesses. On the transaction side, his experience covers the purchase and leasing of commercial properties and advising on development sites.

He is a member of the Bedford Surveyors 1921 Club and was President of that club for 2010/2011.

Outside the office he enjoys spending time with his family and is also a Governor of the Sharnbrook Mill Theatre. He occasionally finds time to perform in the theatre, and enjoys cycling, swimming and watching his son play football.

Jonathan has for many years predominantly practised in Family and Civil Law. He qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 1997 and in 1999 qualified as a Solicitor.

He has experience of all types of litigation including housing, commercial dispute resolution, disputed Wills and probate, insolvency and debt recovery.

Jonathan has succeesfully concluded a case in the Supreme Court, which clarifies the law surrounding harrassment.  http://www.supremecourt.gov.uk/decided-cases/docs/UKSC_2012_0010_Judgment.pdf His experience in Family Law is recognised by the Law Society and in 2011 he became a Resolution Specialist in Advanced Family Provision 1 and 2.

Jonathan is happily married and has two children. He is also a member of the Round table and spends some of his spare time raising money for local charities.

Phil graduated from Coventry University in 2006 with a BA (Hons) in Criminology and Law.

He followed this by a further two years study at Birmingham City University, being awarded an LLB in Legal Practice.

He joined Sharman Law LLP in March 2009 and now works as a Solicitor in our dispute team. His particular interest is in dealing with property and employment disputes, but he also deals with more general disputes on behalf of our private and business clients.

He lives on the Bedfordshire/Cambridgeshire border and has spent many long hours working on local farms to fund his university education.

Ian is a litigation executive in our Debt Collection Department and joined the firm in July 1990 having previously worked for two national building societies for a total of 21 years.

He deals with dispute cases, principally debt recovery as well as undertaking agency work in the Bedford and other County Courts and has experience in the repossession of mortgaged and rented property.
