Bicentenary Dinner & Bicentenary Reception

On 19th June 2009, Sharman Law LLP Solicitors hosted a civic dinner at the Harpur Suite in Bedford to celebrate the firm's 200th anniversary.

Sharman Law is one of only a handful of legal firms in the country able to trace its roots back as far as 1809 and this achievement is something about which the Partners and staff are extremely proud.

During the last 200 years the firm has traded under a few different names, culminating in the change to Sharman Law LLP in April 2008. Sharman Law has two offices - one in the heart of Bedford and the second in the thriving market town of Ampthill.

Joining the Partners and staff at the commemorative dinner were representatives from all of the leading professions in Bedford, as well as many civic dignitaries.

Guests were treated to a very enjoyable and convivial evening, which enabled old friends to catch up with each other and new friendships to be forged. Although it is unlikely that such friendships will last for another 200 years, all concerned hope that they will continue for many years to come.

All guests were delighted to join the Partners and staff in toasting the health and success of Sharman Law LLP.

In addition, on 26th November 2009, Sharman Law LLP held a civic reception at the old Court House in Ampthill, again to celebrate its 200th Anniversary. This too proved to be a very successful and enjoyable event culminating in a toast to the firms achievements over the last 200 years and the future health and success of the firm as well as the cutting of a 200th Anniversary cake by the Mayor or Ampthill and Senior Partner Anthony Northey.
